Subject: Re: BBC Keyboard - SLOW?
Everyone,
Thanks for your comments regarding this.
I've tweaked my keyboard routine. This has made the keyboard more
responsive as well as allowing multiple depression of keys (e.g.
in Chuckie Egg, where you should be able to run, jump and climb
a ladder, all in one go).
Even the 'slow' SHIFT key problem has gone away. This key now
slows down the system by the same amount as any other key, i.e.
not much. But CTRL is still playing up.
Perhaps someone with a real beeb would like to try the following.
Run this in MODE2 (say)
10FORI=1TO1000
20P.I
30N.
without pressing a key. Then again with SHIFT depressed and finally
with CTRL pressed. Time these with a wristwatch. I think the CTRL
thing is a bug in my system. Certain CTRL+key don't work as expected,
so that's a big giveaway.
