Subject: beebem under win95
I have just run Nigel Magnay's Win32 port of David Gilbert's beebem on the
WPP Windows95 release.
Having loaded WinG (not part of Win95?) I can report that both binaries
provided in the package almost work. The fault must be with me in the ROM
department.
All I get is a window with "BBC Computer 32K". It hangs. I guess the system
looks for the -
MOS ROM. Mine = Version 1.2 this must be ok.
DNFS. Mine = "DFS,NET (C)ROFF".
This I think is the problem my old beeb
and Master use ADFS on 1772 controller chips.
BASIC. Mine = "BASIC (C)1982" This should be ok.
So looks like I'm stuck because I updated my old beeb with the new ADFS ROM.
I don't expect anyone to post an image to me but can someone check out
the version of the dnfs ROM I should be after. I have tried two DFS
images but the emulator baulks at them for being only 8k in size.
Meanwhile congratulations to David and Nigel for excellent work.
I shall now go and look through my beeb archives to find an old ROM
checksum (CRC) routine which may help sort out which ROMs are required.
