Subject: Joining the list
Hi everyone. I just joined the BBC emulator list because of interest for
your developments and perhaps a can be of some assistance in some cases,
though I think there is already enough expertise among the present members,
but anyway. I hit upon this list by a quotation of it in the Emulator FAQ
available on the emulator newsgroup at Internet. Well, now for the Beeb
itself. I've got a BBC Model B with Solidisk (have they survived?) Four Meg
board and 256k RAM/ROM on my desk ready to run but switched about 5 years
ago to the PC. I simply had to because all stuff here is PC based. Though I
got a 512 expansion to run DOS PLUS it wasn't capable of running the true PC
software flawlessly. And it didn't support a harddisk either I believe.
Nevertheless I still miss the good old fabulous BASIC interpreter. There was
a BASIC version for the 512 but it insisted however on running with the
coprocessor and doesn't function on a true PC. I have lots of books about
the Beeb and annual volumes of Micro User, Acorn User and A&B from 1983 till
about 1991. I have many high level languages and programmed a lot in 6502
assembler. Bye for now and see you on the list!
Greetings from Holland,
Arthur Visser
