Subject: Re: Planetoid/Snapper problems
We learn that the snapper code runs faster when FE60 has unexpected
values. Has no-one considered the possibility that this was to allow
easy investigation of different playing speeds with a simple hardware
switch on the user port? This seems painfully obvious as the reason
for such an apparently strange thing to do. FE60 contains bits which
reflect the current status of the user port, allowing eight switches
to control the speed with great precision. When FE62 contains zero,
they are all inputs and can be pulled low with a simple switch (they
pull themselves high!).
I'll have to run-up snapper and try pressing my mouse buttons (AMX
mouse standard uses the user port :-).
Most interesting.
