Subject: Master 512 problems

Sorry this isn't directly related to our usual discussion:

I've just switched on my Master 512 after a few months break, and I'm
having a few problems with my sideways RAM.

*SREAD and *SWRITE no longer work, and give an 'illegal parameter' error.
However the SRAM paged ROM seems to be okay at a first glance (*HELP SRAM
works). The Master enhanced version of most of the games are okay - e.g.
Exile, unless they call *SWRITE etc. in a BASIC program, in which case I
get the error shown above.

Reading the clock also seems to produce some stange control
characters which break up the usual string format (is this related?)

Any ideas where I should start looking?
