Try cleaning it with isopropyl alcohol (the stuff that is used to
clean VCR heads and floppy disk drives). If you don't have any of
those (I won't touch video head cleaning tapes from inside a level 5
containment field!) try down at the local
chemist/pharmacy/drugstore/whatever. They should be able to provide
you with some at a small cost.
