Pirate! I remember when we had a shelf full of BBC's, six in all, at
the Dryden Public Library,
Dryden, Ontario, Canada, and all the kids were playing Elite while I
was word processing or
fooling around in Basic or occasionally Logo. I occasionally saw someone
play Pirate, and even
made a copy of it for myself. Enjoyed it thoroughly, navigating blind
until you began to get the
idea of the shape of the sea.
Even learned after my Pirate disc crashed, how to unhide the Catalogue
so you could view it.
(Hint: the title bar had the Title"P I R A T E" but the space characters
had been replaced with
bytes with the value zero. Restoring these to hex20 made the catalogue
visible.)
Do try Pirate, if you can get hold of it!
Cheers to you,
Rick
