I expect it is due to our controller...
I want to be able to transfer whole disk images from PC to my real beebs
too, but FDC wont even run on my PC.

It would be a useful project, I think, to write a program that transfers
a disk image from the PC via serial cable, and writes it directly,
sector by sector, to a disk in the drive.

Maybe someone already wrote this ...?
