You may find that if the disk was formatted on the BBC with the Watford DFS
or using a tool like ADT then the PC will be able to read it. Give it a try,
alot of people have found that this works.
It looks like it is due to the skew factor parameter that some disc
formatters use.
I have one of the newest PC's around, and am always upgrading to the newest
technology, and have had no problems as yet with any of these modern
controllers.
The controller won't make a difference. The DFS would though. If you read my
Disk Drive and DFS guide you will see that with a slight alteration to the
standard Acorn DNFS 1.2 you can also use 1.2MB drives on the BBC. The only
problem was a timeout setting.
