Subject: Beebem - new version

Hi,
There is a new (beta) version of Beebem for Unix/X. It has a few speed
ups,
bug fixes, and it has

    SOUND!!

(for Linux only at the mo I'm afraid).

Sound on the windows version is being worked on - and all fixes will be
rolled into a new windows version when the sound is done.
If anyone wants to modify the sound for other Unix platforms I'd be happy
to roll the code in.

I'd appreciate if people could grab it and see if it compiles or even
works :-)

NOTE:
Its moved - the beeb emulator is now at:

ftp://ftp.compsoc.man.ac.uk/pub/beebem

with the new version in the prerelease subdirectory.

Please note this is also the location of the older stabler version now;
could who ever is looking after the web pages please update it.

Cheers,

Dave

P.S. I have also written an Archimedes hardware emulator based on the
public release ARM emulator; I'm going to make that available sometime
when I get ARM Linux to run on it (so people wouldn't need to run copyrighted
software on it). This is a good few weeks away.
