Subject: bbcim & archive format & bbcom

Hi bbc emulator users,

I'd like some feedback on the following issues:

1. Now's the time to send me requests to put in bbcim 1.0 (Yes, finally
1.0!)

0.96 with ADFS functions is nearly ready (see the web page today or
tomorrow). BTW, the code is now readable after the frontend separation
(so go ahaead if you want to hack).

2. Any suggestion about the archive format? What about tapes? Should we
standarzie the 6502em format? (and what is that exactly?)

3. Anyone out there using linux ? If so, why not email me for a copy of
bbcom (ser. comm. with the beeb from linux). It's easier to use than
xfer, faster, and essentially removes the need to make diskimages, but
it is untested except on my own Opus Challenger. It may even work with
tapes. I can't find my tape connector so anyone willing to test this?
This is all I use now. FDC is dead as far as I'm concerned.

see www.cistron.nl/~wouters/bbc/bbc-etc.html for bbcim 0.95 (esp. for
DOS users, if such people are still around :-) ) and more info on the
archive format and bbcom.

Wouter
